X Shore PWA (Progressive Web Application) is an installable website able to behave as a standalone application. Oriented to small devices like mobiles, tablets, etc. Designed to send commands (lock/unlock currently) and retrieve / display data to and from X Shore vessels. The PWA app is built on a decoupled Drupal 9 - Next.JS/React architecture. We are taking advantage of Drupal's highly regarded back-end functionality, using Drupal as a repository for content and exposing this content and other data through its powerful REST/Json API to the React frontend interface. In this way we’re not bound to one digital experience, instead, using Drupal as back-end and React as front-end we can more effectively extend our content to various other digital experiences.
About the project
X Shore wanted to engage with their customers to provide updates and relevant information during the construction of their pre-ordered boat.
Youpal developed the X Shore customer app. The app provides days left till launch, photos of the build, News and Social Sharing, Chat and request for a test drive.
For the development and improvements of their boats to not only provide a great customer experience but simultaneously improve upon their pioneering journey of a cleaner environment, we implemented an IoT platform
X shore wanted to give their clients the freedom to customise their boats in real-time, by just tapping its features and able to showcase their boat in 3D with ease on any browser, operating system and device
Youpal is developing a real-time, fully interactive, high-quality browser-based cross-platform with photo-realistic look
In the pursuit of X Shore providing a great buying experience, their clients will have the possibility to design their boat according to their wishes. For X Shore, this will simplify the manufacturing process as well as collect data that is useful for market analysis such as customer preferences to continuously improve upon their boats and services.
Why Drupal was chosen
Drupal is great at accommodating content growth. It’s also great at alternating between periods of constant traffic and high traffic spikes.
