One of Europe’s oldest public universities, focused on higher education, academic research, institutional communication, and global knowledge sharing. USAL Communication used the accessibility SaaS solution, providing a more inclusive, and user-friendly experience for students, researchers, media professionals, and public audiences.

About the project

Aimed to improve digital accessibility, usability, and inclusive access to institutional news, academic information, and research content for diverse audiences across Spain and international regions. Focused on enhancing accessibility features that support users with visual, cognitive, motor, and age-related disabilities while aligning with accessibility expectations under WCAG 2.2, Spain’s public sector UNE 139803:2012, EN 301 549 European Accessibility Act (EAA) requirements.

A scalable and easy-to-integrate accessibility solution that could work seamlessly within the existing Drupal environment without disrupting content workflows or website performance. Key priorities included keyboard navigation support, readability improvements, color and contrast controls, screen reader compatibility, multilingual accessibility support, and responsive accessibility enhancements across devices.

By implementing the accessibility SaaS solution, overall accessibility experience was improved, strengthened inclusive digital engagement, and supported broader compliance initiatives for students, researchers, media professionals, and public visitors.
