Sector(s)
Elenger has been operating since 1864 and is the largest private energy company in the Baltic-Finnish region. It operates in six markets in Europe. Its offer includes comprehensive solutions in natural gas, LNG, biomethane, and electricity. Elenger’s mission is to provide efficient energy sources that support sustainable development and are as climate-friendly as possible.
About the project
The Goal
Elenger had to maintain two separate website versions for desktop and mobile. We aimed to build a single company website without any content or functionality inconsistencies.
The main goal included:
- A consistent brand image – it was at the top of our mind to eliminate any contradictions between the new website and the rebranding.
- Simplified administrators’ work – our ambition was to make website management easier for editors.
- Transferring the website logic and key features – the company wanted us to keep the previous site’s functionality despite the migration.
The Solution
We led a successful website migration to Drupal 11. Our development team put emphasis on the following:
- A new layout consistent with the rebranding – the Polish brand adopted the company’s visual identity – the color palette, typography, and general graphic principles. We made sure the website not only fits the entire group’s visual identity but also offers more than the base version.
- Intelligent migration – it was risky to migrate manually. We implemented advanced scripts that automatically detected mentions of the old brand and replaced them with the new one. This mechanism also helped maintain the website’s SEO integrity – it detected links that led to the previous domain and updated them to the new address.
- B2B-first architecture – generating B2B leads is Elenger’s main goal. We designed the navigation and content structure to reflect this priority from users' first interaction with the website.
- Business areas map – this fully dynamic solution mitigated Customer Service inquiries. Users can quickly check service availability by hovering over a specific location.
- Gas consumption calculator – this solution runs in real time and does not require a page reload. It allows users to receive average gas consumption estimations and calculate precise energy values.
- Multi-step service form – we based it on the progressive disclosure principle. At each stage, users see only the fields relevant to their specific situation – for example, whether they are individual or business customers. This solution reduced the customer service workload.

The Effect
We managed to build an enterprise-class website in just 4 months. It is entirely consistent with the brand image and exceptionally functional.
The most important effects of our work are:
- A successful website migration to Drupal 11
- Better security and community support
- One fully responsive ecosystem
- Independent menu, form, and content management
- Increased customer independence
- Maintained search engine visibility
Why Drupal was chosen
- Preceding experience – the previous website version was based on Drupal 7, so migrating to version 11 was a natural choice.
- Access to advanced tools and development options – Drupal enabled us to create solutions such as a distribution network map and the energy calculator.
- Robust security system – it was crucial to minimize the risk of data leakage and cyberattacks.
