Sprintive developed the Intaj website using Drupal, transforming the association’s digital presence into a structured online community with differentiated user roles, registration pathways, content-management capabilities, and membership-based access.
The central challenge was to accommodate different types of companies and participation levels within one platform. Existing members, non-member companies, and businesses applying to join the association each require a different registration journey and set of permissions.
Beyond the public-facing website, the platform provides company profiles, self-service content management, member-exclusive resources, and editorial controls that allow Intaj to manage how company content is presented across the wider portal.
About the project
Three Registration Pathways
One of the platform’s most distinctive features is its multi-path registration system. Instead of applying one registration process to every visitor, the website provides three pathways based on a company’s existing relationship with Intaj and its intended level of participation.
1. Register an Existing Company
Companies already operating in the ICT sector can register on the platform and identify whether they are existing Intaj members or non-members.
The selected membership status determines the features and content-management permissions available to the company.
- For member companies, the platform provides an extended self-service environment where authorized users can manage their company profiles, publish company news and events, and share company information and publications.
Members also gain access to exclusive content, including ICT-sector opportunities, tenders, applications, insights, and publications. - For non-member companies, the platform provides a more limited profile-management experience. Companies can maintain their basic company information and access publicly available content, while member-exclusive resources and publishing capabilities remain restricted.
2. Join the Network
The Join the Network pathway serves companies that are not currently registered on the platform but want to establish a presence within the Intaj community.
This pathway provides a way for companies to join the network without immediately becoming paying association members. Their platform access follows the non-member permissions model.
This distinction allows Intaj to expand its digital network while maintaining a clear separation between community participation and formal membership benefits.
3. Become a Member
The Become a Member pathway is designed for companies seeking formal membership in the association.
The journey introduces prospective members to the membership offering, including relevant membership categories, fees, and benefits, before they proceed with their application.
Once membership is established, the company can access the features associated with member status, including expanded publishing capabilities, member-exclusive resources, and opportunities available through the platform.
Company Profiles and Self-Service Content Management
The platform gives registered companies a dedicated space to present and maintain their information.
Member companies can manage a broader range of content, including:
- Company profiles and business information
- Company news and announcements
- Events and activities
- Clients
- Properties and products
- Company publications and resources
This self-service model reduces reliance on the association’s administrators for routine company updates and allows businesses to keep their information current.
Editorial Governance and Content Publishing
An important distinction between the platform and a standard company directory is the relationship between company-level publishing and association-level editorial control.
Member companies can submit and publish content within their permitted areas. In addition, Intaj administrators can review company news and select relevant stories for publication on the main portal as broader ICT-sector news.
This creates two complementary publishing levels:
- Company-level publishing: Companies manage and share their own updates through their profiles.
- Association-level publishing: Intaj administrators curate selected company news for wider visibility across the main portal.
This approach gives member companies greater visibility while preserving the association’s control over content presented as part of its wider industry communications.
Member-Exclusive Resources and Opportunities
The platform provides a dedicated content ecosystem for member companies.
- ICT Opportunities and Tenders: Members can access opportunities, tenders, and other business-related resources relevant to Jordan’s ICT sector.
Restricting this content to eligible members creates a dedicated channel for sharing opportunities through the association’s digital platform. - Applications, Insights, and Publications
The platform also provides members with access to restricted resources, including applications, industry insights, publications, and other knowledge materials.
These resources may include reports, studies, books, and sector-related publications. Access permissions allow Intaj to distinguish between publicly available information and resources reserved for its membership community.
Together, these capabilities turn the website into a practical business resource rather than simply a source of institutional information.
Why Drupal was chosen
Drupal was selected for its flexibility in managing complex content structures, user roles, permissions, and editorial workflows.
The project required more than a conventional company directory. It needed a content management system capable of connecting company profiles, membership status, news, events, publications, and restricted resources while applying different access rules to each.
Drupal provided the foundation for:
- Role-based access control: Differentiating member, non-member, and other user permissions.
- Structured content management: Managing company profiles, news, events, publications, and opportunities as distinct content types.
- Customized registration workflows: Supporting different entry points into the Intaj community.
- Editorial governance: Allowing association administrators to review and manage content submitted by member companies.
- Scalable architecture: Supporting the addition of new content categories, community features, and membership services.
