Redesign of the Institut Pasteur website, with a new logo, new colors and a new tree structure. From Drupal 7 to 11, with a new approach in crontribution based on paragraphs.

About the project

The Institut Pasteur website is rich in a long history of pages and content. The primary objective was to re-establish a navigation system that would highlight the scientific wealth of the institute and its innovations.

The SEO capital of the site should also be preserved. Some practical pages on travel and diseases are very popular. The use of data from the old site was at the heart of the project.

We also took advantage of the redesign to create new pages and change the editorial approach by using the Paragraph module, offering a new way to contribute.

It is undoubtedly the highlighting of donations that has been the most important, integrated in the form of CTAs or blocks on the different pages of the site.

The different pages offer many possible customizations (dark mode, hero format,...) to leave as much flexibility as possible.

Why Drupal was chosen

Drupal was already the solution of the previous site of the Pasteur Institute and offers a lot of flexibility and customization in the back office. The organization of navigation or the writing of pages must remain simple and easy to learn for the many users, who do not all have the same digital maturity. Drupal was therefore always the best approach to offer a tool that is easy to use, that contributors are comfortable with and that offers many possible customizations.

Why these modules/theme/distribution were chosen

The paragraph module was chosen to offer new tools to contributors. With Gin they are offering a new experience in the back-office.

Daily migration are programmed for importing courses from an external application.

We also offered some new personalization with the icon field available on forms.
