Visit the site
Visit the siteThis is a personal blog website built using HTML5 (Zen subtheme). The idea comes for a drupal developer's personal site. The sites uses Views Fraction Slider that supported to multilayer slideshow. The front page of site was built with idea of one page site. Content are listed in sections while visitor can navigate via from top menu having smooth scroll effect.
About the project
The primary focus, as mentioned, was blog. I took the one-page site approach allowing smooth scroll to be the main focus.
The transitions were very important and we used some existing Drupal modules as well as some custom written modules to take advantage of jQuery's customizations. Views Fraction Slider, Modernizr, Masonry, jCarousel, and jQuery Easing are all used to the site.
The theme itself is derived from Zen's flexible layout. Everything is defined in percentages and ems which makes the images, positioning, and font sizes scalable. Again, this breaks free from the typical design mould and works really well.
Why Drupal was chosen
I am quite pleased with how versatile and functional Drupal and its user contributed modules are, so I would like to share a bit about how it can be used for a more interactive type site. I was quite surprised that someone with no Drupal experience, and very little coding knowledge, can create such a complex site with out-of-the-box modules, and have it done in under a month.
