Training
KFG provides high quality materials taught in an interactive format and conducts mentoring and practical hands on training with individuals as well as teams. To promote the greatest effectiveness of training delivery, KFG can augment live and in-classroom training with industry leading online delivery and self-paced learning opportunities.
KFG provides on site, hands on assistance to co-design or co-develop Drupal implementation with coaching supplemented with training materials for later reference. Our training is committed to helping ensure growth in Drupal adoption with a constant focus on sustainable Drupal usage and practical application of these new skills for future development and migration of legacy assets and content. Drupal Contributions
KFG leverages a background that includes partnerships in support of the Drupal core implementation team and encompassing major release and maintenance of Drupal 5, 6, 7 and 8. Our team extensive experience with the Drupal framework participation as a vibrant part of the Drupal open source community enables KFG to channel a broad support network and deliver excellence to customers.
KFG’s team has brought several Drupal sites through each aspect of the software development lifecycle up to and including production by leveraging workflows, syndication, editorial approval, and emphasizing ease of use in each. These experiences include rapidly developed cloud based solutions, and physical server deployments utilizing Linux based servers with installed PHP5 and Apache2 software, Oracle compatible databases (both MySQL and PostgreSQL), and Drupal.
KFG has a solid background in the identifying and implementing existing modules as well as designing, architecting, developing, and delivering Drupal modules that implement and extend advanced Drupal features. In addition, through many development cycles, KFG has honed it’s skills at identifying core Drupal functionality capable of fulfilling requirements and where and when to augment that functionality. KFG has delivered several high volume transactional modules including event management spanning DoD and non-DoD attendees, high volume transactional processing for non-profit donations for the Wounded Warrior Foundation and materials distribution, and integrations with various other systems existing system including but not limited to COTS and open source human resources, enterprise resource planning and travel systems.
KFG’s team has built numerous custom themes and is experienced in adapting existing themes to Drupal’s unique theming templates, for example; in its service to the Army Center for Substance Abuse, KFG personnel designed and implemented custom themes to support standard DoD user requirements while additional and separate themes were used to accommodate site administrators who were expecting a more process-driven user experience, allowing for customized look and feel on a per user-role basis.
KFG supported OSD-ATL-DPAP to pilot metrics reporting and BI visualizations; this implementation incorporated legacy theming sourced from the DoD Procurement Toolbox, complex access controls, blogging, charting, data representation and automated account provisioning.
In support of DISA, the KFG team has mitigated security risks and ensured secure web applications. Building upon the integrated Drupal user management practice, employed by several US Federal Government and DoD websites, KFG is well-equipped to complete CAC integration or RSA token authentication.
KFG completed a Drupal pilot for the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) to validate the suitability, viability and feasibility of this technology for their environment as well as crafted a measured plan for future implementation to deliver capabilities in a phased approach. DeCA now embraces Drupal as representing a low cost, low risk configuration based solution that eliminates excessive reliance on coding and leverages efficiency gains from configuration as a lesser impact to sustain and enhance valuable capabilities for their agency.
